Washington, DC – Congresswoman Lori Trahan (D-MA-03) today released the following statement upon reviewing available information about President Trump’s budget request to Congress.

“President Trump’s budget request is nothing more than a laundry list of broken promises to working Americans. The proposed indiscriminate cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and other vital social and jobs programs to finance his ineffective border wall – which Congress has already rejected – would hurt hardworking men, women, and seniors in Massachusetts’ 3^rd District. This budget is a nonstarter. The President should go back to the drawing board and deliver a budget that invests in the American worker, our communities, and our values,” said Rep. Trahan. “I stand ready to get to work with my colleagues on a realistic budget that properly funds important health care programs, education, infrastructure, and workforce training programs that help get Americans back to work.”
