Trahan Sworn in for Fourth Term
Washington,
January 3, 2025
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Lori Trahan (MA-03) issued the following statement after being sworn in for her fourth term representing Massachusetts’ Third Congressional District: “I’m honored to continue representing the district that means everything to me – the place where my grandparents first settled as immigrants in search of opportunity, where I was born and raised, and where my husband and I are now raising our family.” “As I took my oath, I reflected on the sacrifices and determination of families like the one I grew up in. My parents taught my sisters and me the values of grit, hard work, and perseverance – values that gave us a chance at a better life. Today, families are working harder than ever to provide their children with the same opportunities, but the high cost of living and limited access to affordable housing and child care are putting those dreams further out of reach.” “That’s why every decision I make and every vote I take will continue to be guided by one question: How does this improve the lives of the people I have the privilege to serve? The road ahead won’t be easy, especially under Republican control of the federal government. However, I remain committed to working with anyone, regardless of their political affiliation, who shares the goal of improving the communities we represent.” “I am profoundly grateful for the trust placed in me to continue this work, and I will fight every day for the future our children and grandchildren deserve.” ### |
