WASHINGTON, DC – Today, House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Co-Chair Lori Trahan (MA-03) issued the following statement after a second House Republican vote to impeach U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas:

“Once again, extreme MAGA Republicans have hijacked the House floor to force another vote on a partisan, unconstitutional impeachment of our Homeland Security secretary. This is nothing more than a waste of time and taxpayer money, which has sadly become a trend under the feeble speakership of Mike Johnson. Unsurprisingly, it looks like yet another week will pass without House Republicans offering any semblance of a viable plan to strengthen our border security, update our broken immigration laws, or deliver for the hardworking families we represent.”
