WASHINGTON, DC – Today, House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Co-Chair Lori Trahan (MA-03) issued the following statement after voting against the failed Republican attempt to impeach U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas:

“House Republicans are all talk, no action when it comes to strengthening our border security. Instead of securing the House’s seat at the negotiating table for the Senate’s bipartisan border agreement, Speaker Johnson caved to demands from his bosses – Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene – to focus on a failed impeachment of our Homeland Security Secretary. This is nothing more than a political stunt that does nothing to protect our border or update our broken immigration laws.”
