Trahan Celebrates $1.4 Million in American Rescue Plan Funding for Hudson Water Infrastructure

LOWELL, MA – Today, Congresswoman Lori Trahan (MA-03) joined State Representative Kate HoganHudson DPW Director Eric Ryder, and Hudson Select Board Chair Scott Duplisea to celebrate $1.4 million in federal American Rescue Plan funding for the Town of Hudson to strengthen essential water drainage infrastructure.

“This $1.4 million federal investment made possible by the American Rescue Plan has become more essential than ever in the aftermath of the storms the Commonwealth endured in recent months. I worked closely with the Biden-Harris administration to get the American Rescue Plan over the finish line because I knew the law would deliver critical federal funds to complete long overdue projects like this in Hudson,” said Congresswoman Lori Trahan. “I’m proud to work with such diligent local leaders as State Representative Kate Hogan, DPW Director Eric Ryder, and Select Board Chair Scott Duplisea who are implementing this federal investment to upgrade key water drainage systems and repair culverts.”

"This funding represents the continued investment that the Biden Administration is making in our nation’s infrastructure. We are grateful to our congressional partners who worked with Congresswoman Trahan and President Biden to pass the American Rescue Plan Act and committed to investing in the futures of our towns and communities,” said State Representative Kate Hogan.

“This $1.4 million dollars of American Rescue Plan funding will go towards badly needed water drainage upgrades and culvert repairs throughout the Town. On behalf of the Town of Hudson and its residents, I want to thank Congresswoman Trahan for her efforts in securing this ARPA funding allocation for the Town,” said Scott Duplisea, Hudson Select Board Chair.

“On behalf of the residents of Hudson, I would like to thank Congresswoman Trahan. The 1.4 million dollars in American Rescue Plan funding has been able to help fund multiple drainage infrastructure projects. Green St drainage improvements, Main St culvert repairs, Chestnut St culvert replacement and Brigham St culvert replacement to name a few,” said Eric Ryder, DPW Director.

The Town of Hudson has utilized the $1.4 million to repair the culvert at Main & Houghton Streets, complete a drainage project on Green Street, and replace culverts at Chestnut Street and Brigham Street. All projects have been completed except for the replacement of the Brigham Street culvert.

Trahan voted for the American Rescue Plan in March of 2021. The Town of Hudson has received nearly $6 million in total federal funding through the package, which has been utilized to upgrade elementary school HVAC systems, improve public health services, treat PFAS, and more.
