“For the second time this month, extreme Republicans have taken control of the House from Speaker McCarthy – this time to force a vote on whether to impeach President Biden. Rather than taking up legislation to restore women’s reproductive rights one year after the Dobbs decision, address the gun violence epidemic that’s killing our children, or lower costs for working families, House Republicans are wasting time trying to settle political grudges. Speaker McCarthy needs to grow a spine and stand up to the far-right members in his own ranks.”
