Trahan Celebrates $4.7 Million in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Funding for Lancaster Road Upgrades

LOWELL, MA – Yesterday, Congresswoman Lori Trahan (MA-03) was joined by State Senator John Cronin. State Representative Meg Kilcoyne, and Lancaster leaders to celebrate $4,758,794 in federal funding Trahan secured through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for improvements to Lunenburg Road and Main Street intersections.

The project is expected to be completed by Thanksgiving of 2023 with the federal funding covering 98% of the total cost of upgrade.

"This project is another example of the outstanding partnership between our federal, state and municipal leaders in the region,” said Senator John Cronin (D-Lunenburg). “I’m thankful to Congresswoman Trahan not only for her advocacy and ability to secure funds for North Central, but for her efforts to consolidate support for this crucial project and ensure that the region has the infrastructure required to thrive and grow."

"I was proud to join Congresswoman Lori Trahan and State Senator John Cronin in celebrating over $4 million in federal funds to the Town of Lancaster," said State Representative Meghan Kilcoyne (D-Clinton). "These funds will be used for much needed improvements to the intersections of Lunenburg Road and Main Street. I am grateful for Congresswoman Trahan's leadership in securing these funds and our ongoing partnership in bettering the quality of life for our shared communities."

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Trahan voted for in November of 2021, is sending at least $4.2 billion for road improvements and repairs to the Commonwealth to support projects like these intersection upgrades.
