Trahan Hosts Ceremony Honoring Service Academy Nominees

LOWELL, MA – Today, Congresswoman Lori Trahan (MA-03) hosted a ceremony to celebrate military service academy nominees and their families from across the Third District in Lowell. The event, held at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium’s Hall of Flags, included a speaking program with remarks from Trahan as well as a Service Academy Board member and student nominee, followed by photographs and refreshments. “Nominating students from across the Third District to our nation’s prestigious service academies is one of the greatest privileges I have as a Member of Congress,” said Congresswoman Trahan. “This year’s nominees have demonstrated exceptional character and leadership, unwavering enthusiasm and determination, and a steadfast commitment to serve our country and the common good. They are truly the best our district has to offer, and I couldn’t be prouder to support them in their continued service to our communities and to our country.” This year, Trahan nominated 19 students from across the Third District to the United States Military Academy West Point, the United States Naval Academy, and the United States Air Force Academy. The student nominees were interviewed and recommended by volunteer members of Trahan’s Service Academy Board, composed of academy alumni, veterans, and community leaders.
