Trahan Tours New State-of-the-Art Triton Facilities at Chelmsford Cross Roads

LOWELL, MA – Yesterday, Congresswoman Lori Trahan (MA-03) joined with company and Chelmsford Town leaders to tour Triton Systems, Inc.’s new facilities located in the newly revitalized Chelmsford Cross Roads at Route 129. The company, which has called Chelmsford home since its founding in 1992, is a technology incubator and developer specializing in breakthrough technologies across a number of sectors.

“Triton’s legacy for nearly 30 years has been to solve our nation’s toughest problems and transition those solutions from the lab to the field,” said Congresswoman Trahan. “It’s incredible to see how research here in Chelmsford – now at the Cross Roads – is aligned with the overall priorities of our nation, whether that means addressing the equipment gaps faced by women in the military or confronting climate change through innovation. The state-of-the-art labs and facilities that I toured yesterday will provide innovators at Triton the platform to solve problems and innovate for the next 30 years.”

“We are pleased to welcome Congresswoman Trahan to our new headquarters facility in Chelmsford and are honored to showcase some of the breakthrough developments in renewable energy, sustainability, healthcare, and robotics,” said Triton President and CEO Ross Haghighat. “The Congresswoman has been a strong and steady supporter of many of these initiatives, promoting a culture of innovation and leading-edge technology development in the 3rd Congressional District of Massachusetts.”

“The Town of Chelmsford thanks Congresswoman Lori Trahan for her ongoing support for Triton Systems. Triton continues to provide innovate products to protect the nation’s eco-systems, military personnel, and healthcare,” said Chelmsford Town Manager Paul Cohen. “The investment by Triton Systems in its new headquarters facility provides great careers for residents of our region.”

Triton relocated to its new facilities in Chelmsford Cross Roads in January 2021, choosing to stay in the town rather than relocate elsewhere because of strong relationships with local business development leaders, its proximity to Boston and Manchester, and its long-standing relationship with UMass Lowell. The company has emerged as an international leader in assembling experienced and creative entrepreneurs, research scientists, engineers, and other experts who collaborate to invent products that solve problems facing a diverse clientele.

During the tour of the facility, Trahan was accompanied by Triton leaders, including President and CEO Ross Haghighat and COO David Model, as well as Chelmsford Town Manager Paul Cohen and Assistant Town Manager Steve Maffetone. The group heard from project leads on progress being made to overhaul the way offshore wind energy turbines are anchored off the coast, replace climate warming gases commonly used as refrigerants with more environmentally friendly alternatives, and develop bladder relief solutions for female military pilots that enable them to do their jobs as effectively and with the same level of support as their male counterparts.

“While the labs and much of the equipment are brand new, it’s great to see so many familiar faces when I visit, of course starting with Ross Haghighat but also leaders like Ken Mahmud, Anant Singh and David Model,” Congresswoman Trahan continued. “It’s also refreshing to see a company move into a renovated facility like this – and do it in the same community. Keeping Triton in Chelmsford is a great accomplishment for both the company and the town. It’s great to be joined by both Town Manager Paul Cohen and Assistant Town Manager Steve Maffetone. I know that Paul and Steve and really all of the Chelmsford team made a strong case to Triton to grow here in Chelmsford – especially here in the Cross Roads at 129 area.”

Triton’s newly remodeled location at 330 Billerica Road is part of Chelmsford’s new Cross Roads at 129, a 623-acre, 70 property business center encompassing high technology, research and development, healthcare, and education businesses. In March 2021, Chelmsford announced Chelmsford Crossroads at Route 129, the rebranding of the town’s revitalized business corridor, which has cut its commercial vacancy in half over the past three years alone. Led by Chelmsford Business Development Director Lisa Marrone, the town continues to devote its resources to supporting the Cross Roads.
