“Today, I stood with my colleagues to decisively affirm an impeachment inquiry. I have stood up to the President on many issues: tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires; his efforts to gut pre-existing condition coverage; attacks on communities of color; and reckless foreign policy decisions. While I will always fight for what is right on policy grounds, today’s vote was not about any of that. It was about holding this administration accountable for the mounting evidence demonstrating a direct violation of the United States Constitution. No American, not even the President, is above the law. This resolution will ensure that as the inquiry moves into the next phase, the American people will have a fully transparent process as we work to surface the full truth.”
