Palantir is a powerful tech company that specializes in building massive databases used for surveillance, tracking, and profiling. Now, according to a new report, the Trump Administration is taking action that grants Palantir access to enormous troves of Americans’ personal sensitive data that the federal government holds.

This isn’t hypothetical. This is happening. 

If you’re like me, you’re probably asking why a secretive data-mining company is compiling a master file on the private lives of every American. I don’t think that should be happening, which is exactly why I’ve been fighting to modernize the Privacy Act for the first time in over 50 years. Because without safeguards, this kind of unchecked power is how our privacy disappears – fast.
